Today we gathered iq:version replies from clients connected to jabber.ru at 14:49 MSD. 4639 replies were received.

OS statistics:

MIDP2	         601 (13%)
FreeBSD	          73 (1.6%)
Darwin	          39 (0.84%)

By Windows version:

Windows XP      2084 (45%)
Windows 2000     241 (5.2%)
Windows 2003     111 (2.4%)
MINGW_WinNT       75 (1.6%)
Windows NT 5.1    28 (0.6%)
Windows Vista     21 (0.45%)
Windows 98        16 (0.34%)

Clients statistics:

Comments

Interesting, there’s 656 Bombus users, but only 601 MIDP2 users.

What could the other 55 be running it on? Or is it that some older Bombus version does not respond properly to iq:version?

At least 30 of 55 were unidentified (empty OS string or obviously faked), the rest contained phone models based on MIDP1, MIDP2 and WinCE.

Are the scripts that gather this information from ejabberd available? It is not intresting enough to write my own scripts but I would consider running them if they were available.

I think if you do a google search you can find most of the software scripts available.
