bit different from those been decscibed but the way Tweet.IM behaves during signout process is like the same.
“ERROR! Authentication failed. Try again!” No matter how many times I
tried to repeat the procedure - same result:(

My first meet with Tweet.IM was through Chatopus appl.for PalmOS and then I succedded to authorize my @twitter with Tweet.IM linking it to Jabber account.
All went well until I decided to change my @twitter account to a new
one. I thought I just register a @newaccount with Tweet.IM on the SAME Jabber account where I subscripted previous @oldaccount.
I failed! Well, then I decided to UNregisted @oldaccount from Tweet.IM - that was successful.
So, what I’m having now: @oldaccount, @newaccount, account at jabber dot org and a wish to authenticate @newaccount with Tweet.IM using same jabber account.
Before attempting this I rechecked if my both @accounts are “free” from Tweet.IM - YES THEY ARE!

I return to the page https://www.tweet.im/ and made another attempt…. Well, I get again: “ERROR! Authentication failed. Try again!”

Please, help to solve this problem! Thanks!

any tweet has a unique address or maybe a code. can’t you use it to provide possibility of Retweeting and Favorite’ing via IM ?

As you can see i get allt he tweets, except the Retweet ones. Is this a known bug or can i set anything to get the retweets, too. Also i would like to know how direct messages and reply are managed.
As Jabber/XMPP client i use mcabber.

For example this tweet:

has the message ID attached to it so above it is displayed “in reply to”

Twitter clients use this to display the conversations in a threaded manner as well.

When a twitter client doesn’t support this feature, things can get awkard.

For example this tweet sent to a female friend of mine without any message ID attached to it can appear creepy:

But if the message ID of the tweet I was intending to respond to was included:
https://twitter.com/#!/luzbonita/status/103889922833915905

It would make sense, as I was talking about her fish.

This kind of feature is essential for any twitter client.

As for how it would work, I think it could be similarly to the suggestion I had for favoriting tweets. If I @reply somebody, it grabs their latest tweet and attaches that ID to the message.

Or maybe it could be a command

reply @person message
