no way to retweet? or “Favorite”?

This is a great service but with at least two shortcomings:
1) we can’t Retweet other people’s tweets.
2) we can’t Favorites some tweets.

No way?

any tweet has a unique address or maybe a code. can’t you use it to provide possibility of Retweeting and Favorite’ing via IM ?

That would be really great.

It’s been a while that tweet.im disappeared from my google talk list and I no longer receive any tweets. even searching “tweet” in my google talk has no result.
My twitter account is still there (not suspended or sth) and I can work with twitter via the website (twitter.com).
Whats wrong?

Hi im using tweet.im right now to replace my twitter client (TTytter). Tweet.im is working fine, although i don’t get any retweets from the ones i follow.
For example some output of TTytter and tweet.im compared:

As you can see i get allt he tweets, except the Retweet ones. Is this a known bug or can i set anything to get the retweets, too. Also i would like to know how direct messages and reply are managed.
As Jabber/XMPP client i use mcabber.

Most twitter clients support attaching message ID to replies, these get displayed in the “in reply to” portion of a tweet and are used to track a specific conversation.

For example this tweet:
https://twitter.com/#!/livejamie/status/93434375567446018

has the message ID attached to it so above it is displayed “in reply to”

Twitter clients use this to display the conversations in a threaded manner as well.

When a twitter client doesn’t support this feature, things can get awkard.

For example this tweet sent to a female friend of mine without any message ID attached to it can appear creepy:

But if the message ID of the tweet I was intending to respond to was included:
https://twitter.com/#!/luzbonita/status/103889922833915905

It would make sense, as I was talking about her fish.

This kind of feature is essential for any twitter client.

As for how it would work, I think it could be similarly to the suggestion I had for favoriting tweets. If I @reply somebody, it grabs their latest tweet and attaches that ID to the message.

Or maybe it could be a command

I’ve just started playing with tweet.im… is there a way to just receive tweets from certain users? I don’t want to be flooded with all tweets I’m subscribed to, just the “important” ones, the way you can set up certain users for twitter to send you an SMS. Possible?
