Same problem here and now (the proposed workaround doesn’t work).
I am with Adium as xmpp client, and a “google for your domain” xmpp account.
If you are doing a quick hack for @gmail.com, it won’t work for me (I am on gtalk servers, but with my own domain name)

Hello,

The fix is valid for @gmail.com addresses.
We need to finish the development to detect Google Hosting.

It is expected later this week.

Thank you very much for your feedback !

i was out all weekend, just came back and fired up the IM client… and there were a bunch of offline messages! yay!

i also really like how you send private messages and replies as the sender, instead of in the general stream.

great work, and thanks!

For reference, the transport seems an old problem that appears and dissapear from time to time:

https://groups.google.com/group/Finding-Solutions/browse_thread/thread/d90325a1b1a15b3/ac8a6ebcbcf68979?lnk=gst&q&pli;=1

Our fix takes care of bypassing the problem no matter what appears on Google.

Hi there. I don’t think my problem is exactly the one described here, but it’s similar, so i don’t think it’s worth a different thread.

I started using tweet.im a couple of days ago and I’m using Pidgin with a Gtalk account. On the first couple of days, everything worked great (except when twitter went down), but today, the whole day, the tweet.im contact appears offline, but i receive updates anyway. I just can’t send them.

I already tried removing the contact and readding it (trough the tweet.im website, and manually). I also tried using Psi and rerequest authorization through it and nothing happened.

I have just begun using tweet.im and am using the google talk client.  I registered online at tweet.im.  When I opened Google talk, i was notified of the friend request from .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and accepted it.  The contact shows as “invited”, i get no tweet updates, and my messages to the contact do not appear in my twitter account.  I also tried adding twitter.tweet.im as a contact in google talk, which also now shows up as “invited”.  Any idea if this is bug, environmental issues with google talk or tweet.im, or PICNIC (Problem In Chair, Not In Computer)?  Any advice would be much appreciated.

Any idea if this is bug, environmental issues with google talk or tweet.im.

I think it seems to be a problem with Gtalk server to server connections. It can miss some messages or presence.

Tweet.im is not the only server to have connection problem with them. For a reference, see this discussion on the XMPP operators mailing list:
http://mail.jabber.org/pipermail/operators/2008-November/000353.html

We will have a look at it and see if we can work around this other problem.

Sorry about the trouble. We are working on it. It works well with other servers and I hope we can reach a similar reliability with Gtalk.

We think that the workaround now works for GoogleApps domains.

Could you retry registering on Tweet.IM and confirm this, please ?

My tweet.im buddy (i.e. .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) shows offline and is not sending me any messages.

I tried using the sign out page and re-registering, which caused no change.

Is there a problem with the service or is this something unique to me?

Thanks!

Hello Craig,

Craig - 23 November 2008 08:25 PM

My tweet.im buddy (i.e. .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) shows offline and is not sending me any messages.

I tried using the sign out page and re-registering, which caused no change.

Is there a problem with the service or is this something unique to me?

I have heard that other people see this behaviour but we have not seen that in the team.

We will have a careful look.

Thank you for the report !

Either you fixed it or it fixed itself, because it’s back and sending tweets. Thank you!

I’ve been trying to make this work for a couple of weeks, but not to avail.

I’ve tried several times to eliminate the .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) user, signing out from tweet.im and following both the home page procedure and the ones in this forum; but nothing happens.

What can I try next?
