This might be a temporary issue, but it surely is annoying: a while ago, tweet.im started freezing Pidgin. How ? The first time, Pidgin just freezed and I didn’t understand why, so I just killed it and started it again. Whenever I try to open a chat window with tweet.im, Pidgin freezes. Sometimes, Pidgin just freezes (probably when tweet.im tries to send me messages ?). I tried removing the contact and adding it again, and the same thing happens. No other contacts, including other XMPP bots, cause this problem, so that’s why I think this is related to tweet.im. How can a contact freeze an IM client ?

I’m using Pidgin 2.5.0 on Ubuntu Hardy. For now I’m using Psi, because Pidgin wouldn’t go for 2 minutes without freezing.

Psi is crashing too, so I’m really going to have to remove the contact. Also, I forgot to mention, I’m using a gmail address.

Apparently, i currently don’t have tweet.im on my contacts list and even if i try to add it again trough the website, i don’t get any request. My twitter username is trodrigues. I would very much appreciate if something could be done about this :(

How can a contact freeze an IM client ?

I do not see how a contact could freeze an IM client, except with a bug from the client itself. It just receive text.
