A new version of Tweet.IM has been push online.

It now removes your own tweets from your timeline.
This should help mobile users (and maybe others) that were distracted by their own Tweet a few minutes after a post.

At first I was actually a little disappointed that my own tweets weren’t showing up. Bearing in mind that if I sent the tweet from the IM side of the gateway this would be expected… but if I tweet from a different client it might be nice to actually get a copy of that tweet in IM as well.

Removing your own tweet from the stream is a feature: You do not want to have your mobile vibrate to warn you of your own message. This is annoying. Instant messaging is for new incoming message.

Well, for the case where I *send the tweet from IM* this makes total sense… because your view of the stream will naturally include the message you sent. If, however, you *submit the tweet from another twitter client*—web, SMS, desktop tweet app, etc—then it might actually be useful to have the message repeated in the IM stream, again for continuity. Just a thought…
