Hi,

I’ve recently established Twitter <-> XMPP bridge via your site and it works fine. I was however unable to find out how to turn off the feature, where tweets from followed people appear in my IM. It is kind of annoying, since there are about 200 tweets a day. I recall the sentence “You can also elect to receive tweets from users that you follow, directly in your instant messenger.” from the tweet.im homepage, so I presume I just overlooked something.

Could anyone please be so kind and help me with this tiny problem?

Thank you in advance

Thank you,

Same question - how to not receive other people tweets?

I want to add that I managed to switch this off temporarily using “Send a custom status = Offline” to a “twitter.tweet.im” transport, but after re-login it turns back.

Change your presence to do not disturb, for example.

Change your presence to do not disturb, for example.

This will disable receiving twits only temporarily. After re-login or changing presence back I will receive all tweets.
I would like to switch this off completely and use Jabber only for sending own tweets.
I don’t want to be in “do not disturb” forever :)

Thanks :)

Not sure I understand what you want then.
The gateway is made to get notifies of messages on Twitter and allow you to reply.
You can disable notification of you are busy.
If you do not want that, what is the point in registering the gateway anyway ?

We will implement this:
* on—original behavior, always forwards tweets whenever you are online
* auto—current behavior, monitors IM status and forwards tweets only when “available”
* off—never forwards tweets

As described on this thread: http://www.process-one.net/en/forum/quotereply/915/

Will it solve your problem ?

The point of using this service for me is the ability to post twits using Jabber.

Yes, this is what I want.
I will use “off” option most of the time.
It is also important for me that tweet.im will allow posting own tweets regardless of mode (on/off/auto).

Thanks a lot!

Here are the new command on Tweet.IM:

ts                    Show your current tweet modeonoff or auto.
tm mode               Set tweet mode where mode is:

on always receive tweets;

off never receive tweets;

auto receive tweets depending on your current status.

Enjoy

Hello,

the reason was, as someone stated ealier in this topic, to Twit using Jabber, not to receive other Tweets. Current modes implementation solves my problem (ts mode off), thank you!
