Dear OneTeam developers,

I find quite concerning that you seemingly don’t seem to be interested in looking into an issue of one of your products reported from a paying customer.
But I find even more concerning that you neglect to acknowledge a defect of your product which is supposed to work flawlessly with all xmpp compliant servers.

I passed over that for the push function OneTeam requires ejabberd and more on, a commercial plugin specifically made for it. But I guess it’s a bit too much pretending that I should ignore blatant defects of the application, perhaps if you keep the “feign indifference” attitude I guess that a negative review regarding the application on the appstore will have to be written.

Best Regards,
Mar.

Hello,

I thereby confirm that we are looking into the issue you have been reported and that we are tracking the problem.

Please, note that the app description did not claim OneTeam is working with Prosody.
From the product description: “Supports: ejabberd, openfire, jabberd14, jabberd2, iChat, Gtalk”
This list is missing Jabber XCP and we will add to the description, but yes to be frank we did not test it with Prosody, because no one ever asked (until you posted there) to support Prosody.

To investigate further, we need you to provide a test account on your server to connect with OneTeam and check the problem.

Regarding the push system, Apple requires our developer certificate that we use to generate the application and we have not the right to delegate the push to our applications, as explained in this forum.

Server is public so has in-band registration enabled. Sorry I didn’t reply before but I have been away a few days, I replied your PM with the server address also.

Maranda,

It is a bug of Prosody. The Vcard is send without a from attribute on the packet.
We have a workaround for it anyway. Workaround will be in the next version.
However, this is clearly breaking the specification and and why a server allow to send packet without from is very strange.

As you see, no need to call us a bad, evil company that “neglect to acknowledge a defect of your product”. We support XMPP compliant servers. We are not the one with the bug here. Sorry, to disappoint you.

Thank you for the fix I would also like to point you to this mailing list message: Matthew’s Answer.

Probably, I am the type of guy who like to be on the safe side ;)
In this case, between two alternatives, the explicit choice is probably the more compliant and easy to integrate in a world you do not control (servers do not control the clients).
