Ivehada functioninggmail account for Yeats. My wireless connection is perfectly fine. Sadly, this is the first app that doesn’t work (never changes from “connecting”). How do I go about getting refund for the broken app?

Thank you!

Hello,

The first thing is to describe:
- Which application are you using ? OneTeam for iPhone ? OneTeam for Gtalk ?
- How did you define your parameters ?
- Did you enable push ?

This application works fine and it should be a simple misconfiguration.

Thank you for the report !

-OT gtalk
-have tried both push on/off
-your other question re: setting my parameters is unclear. I use apple products as to avoid seemingly complicated reconfiguring of parameters.ifim. Promted for my username and password and thus enter those two fields correctly and subsequently told that’s all it takes….i expect that to be the truth!

Can u help? Or tell. Me how to go about obtaining a refund for this faulty device?

Thank!

Yes, we will help you.
Tell me what username you use in the username field and what domain name you have selected (gmail.com or googlemail.com).
Please try with push.
We will enable the debug a the push proxy to see what happens when you connects.

Regarding the refund: Note that ProcessOne does not have the power to refund any app, so best is to solve the problem together.

On which type of network are you connected ?
We do not see any connection attempt on the server, so I suspect that you might be using a network that blocks the service.
Can you try on another network, please ?

I’m using a wireless network that is compatible with all other apps on my iPad.

I’m using a wireless network that is compatible with all other apps on my iPad.

Still, it does not means that the port 5222 is not blocked by your network. A lot of carriers and corporate networks blocks it.

Outgoing connection on this port 5222 is needed by the chat protocol used by Google Talk (XMPP).

The fact that it works with other networking applications is not a sufficient proof that this port is not blocked by your network as I guess 99% of the application on iPhone/iPad use the HTTP protocol, which is never blocked.

Thanks for the diagnosis. Is there someone I can talk to about fixing the problem? If this is an iphone/ipad app, why is it in the 1% of apps that don’t actually work on those devices?! FRUSTRATING! Though it’s my fault: had I read the awful reviews of the app prior to downloading, I wouldnt have done it in the first place.

If you could put me in touch with technical support, that would be great. I know it’s only a dollar, but it’s the principal of the thing. Non-workable apps shouldn’t infiltrate the system!

THanks so much!

So, a few things:
- applications works. There is currently a whole bunch of connections open with messages flowing back and forth Gtalk.
- I feel that we are doing our best to help you with the problem and you are sure to reach technical people in this forum.
- you did not actually reply to my last question to know if your problem is a network problem. If this is the case (which is possible, it depends on the network you are on), there is nothing the application can do about that.

So, please, first step is to try on another network and give you the feedback.

I dont know what you mean by “another network.” I only have wireless networks available. Does GTalk only work using the 3G network? Do I need to call my internet service provider?

and by switching networks, you mean for my ipad internet connection? or is there something specific in the GTalk application preferences that I should be looking at…?

I dont know what you mean by “another network.” I only have wireless networks available.

I mean from another place on another Wireless Lan. Or another 3G network.

Ntroup - 06 June 2010 03:32 PM

Does GTalk only work using the 3G network?

No, it work on both.

Ntroup - 06 June 2010 03:32 PM

Do I need to call my internet service provider?

No, I do not think so.

Try to do that in a different context and in the meantime, we will make some other tests and get back to you tomorrow.

Thank you !

my contacts just showed up! But I’m curious as to how that happened? Is it something I did, unknowingly? Or does it just require troubleshooting on your end?

Glad it works !

We did nothing special from our end, so I do not think it requires troubleshooting.
My initial guess is still valid and I think it was related to the network (maybe slow network and you did not wait enough, temporary DNS problem).
