Hi,

We have setup an OpenFire server, and we have setup very simple users.  The problem is that OneTeam requires user names to be of the form <username>@<domain>.  Our users typically just use <username>, and our users are setup that way.  OneTeam does not allow us to login using just a simple <username>.  We have not had any problems with PC based clients.  We are trying to offer our users an alternative interface to communicate.  Is there a way to work around that?  This is basically a show stopper for us to purchase any additional OneTeam clients.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Yes, Openfire ignore the domain, but this is a mandatory part of the user name in XMPP.
Anyway, putting anything works.

I’ve gota reall y simple Openfire server 3.5.2. configuration running on a win server 2003r2, 7 users. Usually used Spark as client. Now I tried OneTeam desktop edition on my notebook and everything work fine but on the desktops it didn’t. The difference between my notebook and the other desktops is that I’m not registered as a domain user in srv2003r2.

OneTeam config (notebook) THIS WORKS
username:antonio80 (without @server)
host:ip public address
port:5222
source:OneTeam
the rest is set on standard.

OneTeam config (desktop)
username:antonio80(without @server)
host:srv2003r2 (location of the Openfire server)
port:5222
source:OneTeam
the rest is set on standard.

What I do wrong?

Thanks

Antonio

In ‘host’ filed, you either need to put an IP address of a FQDN, so that would be for example myxmppserver.subdomain.domain.com.

if I put the IP public address, sort of 111.111.111.111, even for registered domain users it should work? I can’t figure out qhat you meant beacuse I’m that good enough in server administrration, sorry.

Thanks

Bare JID in “Username” field: user@domain
IP address or FQDN in “Host” field: 1.2.3.4 or domain

We are trying to provide our customers an substitute program to convey.  Is there a way to function around that?  This is generally a present stopper for us to buy any extra OneTeam customers.
