Hi, I’m using push.process-one.net to enable push with my gmail account. Now I want to receive messages on my iPhone only if I’m not online with another XMPP client.

I set the XMPP presence priority in OneTeam to a lower value than my desktop client. That way I receive messages only one the client with higher priority—as long as I don’t use the push.process-one.net server (using gmail directly).

It seems using the proxy doesn’t propagate the priority setting to it.

Is it a bug, missing feature or not possible?

Kind regards
—Marcel

Did you try with proxy ?
Gmail use a very specific way of handling presence, that depends on timeout, running conversation etc, to make sure you receive the message everywhere.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I’m not sure if I get it right… what do you mean with “try with proxy”?

I’m using the push.process-one.net server as proxy to receive push notifications from my gmail account (since the google server doesn’t support push by itself). On my desktop client, I’m using the Google Talk server directly.
The problem is, that I *don’t* want to receive push messages when I’m logged in with another client on my desktop computer. So I’ve set the priority in TeamOne to a lower value than the priority on the desktop client. But that setting seems to have no effect. I still receive messages on both clients.

On the other side, if I don’t use the your push.process-one.net proxy on the iPhone, instead using the google talk server directly (talk.google.com), the priorities are handled correctly. But then, I don’t get push notifications (since google doesn’t support them).

Hence, I suspected, using the proxy prevents the gtalk server to determine to which client it should route the message to and sends it to both.

Am I missing something?
