For those who are not participating to the beta test, here is an update.

Most of the changes focus in two areas:

- Much improved groupchat support: We have gone further in this domain that
we first expected. We now support avatar in groupchat. We support chatroom
configuration and administration directly from OneTeam. It means that you
can create and manage your own chat room directly on the platform. You can
even create a private chatroom and invite your coworkers to join. The chat
room configuration tools can be accessed by right clicking on the chat room
name on the conference tab.

- Server-side history. Yes, your chat history can now be stored on the
server and you can access it from everywhere. OneTeam is now a true
server-side, stateless rich mobile client.

We have also fixed many bugs and are providing a better and more polished
interface. The chat window now includes your contact avatar, for example.

More to come soon, before the open beta that will launch on may 4th, 2007.

Cheers,

Seem’s like the beta is about to startas I see a new homepage.

But since this page appear, I get two problems with oneteam:
* I lost my bookmarks
* I can’t join anyroom (Always get : This room doesn’t exist )

Finally a question (Will it be possible to login to a oneteam account from a normal jabber client ?)

Good job anyway for this client :)

Hello slubman,

Yes, we have upgraded some server side software, which may result in some regressions. Thanks for reporting them! I think the join room is now working, I’ve tested it successfully with a non-administrator user.

We have no plan yet about opening oneteam.im to other jabber clients, as there is already lots of classic jabber im providers around there, but if there is a strong demand about it, we may consider the question.

I still can’t join chat room (with the same error taht the one i describe in my previous post).
I think, there is also another regression with the “open in new window” which doesn’t work anymore .

The “open in new window” is now working. We’ll restore the data for the bookmarks and history and investigate the join room problem.

I can’t use oneteam anymore…cause my distribution use bon echo (the non branded firefox).

Shouldn’t you should also allow BonEcho browser identifiant to use the service?
After all it’s still a firefox.

Hello Slubman,

We do not check for user agent but for available features.
OneTeam requires at least Firefox 2.0. It seems that “Bon echo” is the name for Firefox Alpha / beta cycle, no ?
It could be a Firefox pre 2.0 or a Firefox 3.0 alpha.

Which version is it actually ?

This is the message I got in oneteam page:

OneTeam works only on Firefox (version 2 or newer).
Please install Firefox to use it.

And here my User Agent:

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070531 BonEcho/2.0.0.4

Problem solved: Cookies must be enabled to get oneteam work.

Hello Slubman,

We do not use tests based on user agent but on capabilities (we are testing for various XUL and DB features).
It could be because your browser is not compliant or have disabled features needed by OneTeam to work (such as XUL, SQLlite, etc).

Thanks for the clarification, but as I’ve said, the problem is solved (cookies must be enabled) .
