Benchmarking, Tuning and Capacity Planning
When deploying an Enterprise Instant Messaging server, you need to be sure that it can handle your load. The only way to make sure is to run a realistic benchmark that is precisely simulating the behaviour of your users.
Process-one is developing and supporting the Open Source benchmark tool call Tsung. This is the most advanced tool available to benchmark Jabber / XMPP based server.
Instant Messaging Benchmark Kit
Our Instant Messaging Benchmark Kit provides a set of ready made scenarii, usage and analysis documentation and example results. It is provide with ready made script to tune the Linux Operating System parameters (for example the TCP/IP stack) but also tips to monitoring resources consumption. The Instant Messaging Benchmark Kit is probably the best way to quickly get started with Tsung.
Process-one Instant Messaging Benchmark Kit is available on Linux. Please contact us if you would like to buy Process-one Instant Messaging Benchmark Kit.
Custom Development and Services
We have already run tens of benchmarks in various contexts to simulate different users behaviours. We have developed our own specific modules to address the most demanding user needs and provide fine grained simulation. After a benchmark session, we can compare the customer result with other deployments and based on this information, fine tune the target platform.
Benchmarking stage is a key step in our design, architectural and tuning work of an Instant Messaging Platform deployment.
If you need to outsource benchmarking tasks and/or custom protocols development, please contact us.
