Meetic operates one of the largest online dating services in the world, with the fastest growing network. It uses ejabberd to support high volumes of instant messages between individuals seeking to arrange dates. The company has contributed several important pieces of code, including a plug-in-based publish and subscribe system that increases performance and an improved XMPP parsing library, replacing Jabberlang.

SAPO is a leading European ISP, owned by Portugal Telecom. It has published several significant ejabberd developments, including an enhanced multi-user chat, with anti-abuse features and a series of tools to support migration to ejabberd.
