Yes, The plan is to work on extracting an open source version from this commercial one.
Is there any timeframe for this? There does not seem to be too much activity on Git.
You will not see it on Git until it is ready as it will be a huge change with no direct correlation with the existing code. We will be extracting that code from a quite different code base.
