We have just launched a new service to study instant messaging trends and share statistics and knowledge on instant messaging usage.
The new service is called IMtrends and is currently opened as a beta service.
It includes reports, blogs, but also a Netcraft-like service to get information on a given instant messaging XMPP domain. Currently we have found 5887 XMPP domains, but you can also add your own using the search form. Several people have also already been using it as a diagnostic tool to check their XMPP server settings.
We hope that this tool will help illustrate the growth of the XMPP protocol usage we all see in the messaging world.
