Sea Beyond is a technical event that explores the future of real-time communication technology. This year we welcome speakers from Cleartext, Nokia, Superfeedr and Vodafone. Organised for the second time by ProcessOne, it aims to support those developers who are building experimental new features, as well as inform users about best of breed real-time tools.

The event therefore has two distinct parts:

• The Sandbox: a programme for developers to encourage innovation and the production of new software features
• The Lighthouse: an interactive conference for users that illuminates the latest trends in real time communication

The 2nd edition of Sea Beyond will take place on February 3rd, 2011 in Paris, France. The formal programme will be followed by an opportunity to share a drink and talk with other guests and speakers. The event will address topics on mobile real-time, multi-user communication.

» Topic I: “Federated social real-time tools”

• There will be a workgroup on federated social networks, with focus on federation + Christophe Romain presenting:
  ProcessOne approach to status broadcasting based on pubsub
• David Banes from Cleartext
  Cleartext microblogging extension for the XMPP protocol. He will demo and Cleartext IM and Microblogging Desktop App as well as server component. Don't miss it, David will be even coming with a surprise announcement
• Alexandre Eisenchteter and Thierry Bomandouki from AF83
  UC Engine (Unified Collaboration Engine) and tools to help developers build real-time applications or integrate real-time features to existing applications
• Eric Cestari from ProcessOne
  XMPP based web socket implementation and emphasizes the benefit compared to previous techniques like BOSH socket

» Topic II: “Mobile real-time collaboration”

• There will be a workgroup build around discussing XMPP on mobile
• Mickaël Rémond from ProcessOne
  Mobile XMPP improvements designed for the TextOne Protocol
• Marek Foss from ProcessOne
