Is there a timeframe for this feature?  The new caching of usernames has helped me out greatly.  Keep up the great features (like grouping for usernames).

It would be interesting to know how push notifications will be achieved with OneTeam with out a additional server involved where the users have to register like with other IM apps. IMO the only solution to keep in dependency like today will be that there have to be extensions for jabber servers. This will make it pretty complicated as there are many an no one would be happy to have to change server in order to get push notifications. On the other hand I don’t think that Apple will allow John Doe to issue push notifications with his jabber server .... Please correct me if I’m wrong.

You are correct. It requires a Jabber server extension that will push through ProcessOne to Apple.

Not too nice, I fear this will make it unusable/useless for most users. The major advantage of OneTeam is it’s interdependency.

Who will provide a plugin for Openfire ?

It is the way it works from Apple if you want to use push. You have to use the OneTeam developer private key to use the push system, which cannot be redistributed for obvious security reasons. It thus has to go through ProcessOne servers.

It does not prevent you from using OneTeam without Apple Push.

By the way, push system is ready and we hope to release the system either today or tomorrow.

I’m also running Openfire and would love to use OneTeam’s push capability. Any plans/info on that highly appreciated! :-)

The module to support Apple push for ejabberd is not open source. It is a commercial module that can be found on our IMStore:
http://www.process-one.net/en/imstore/#impush

Regarding the fact that you are an Apple developer, it has no impact. Regarding the push certificate the one that must be use is the one used to generate OneTeam for iPhone, not other developer certificates.

As I said, we would be glad to work with Jivesoftware team, if they want to. You should ask them to contact us.

Since Openfire is open source, and has a good plug-in structure, it shouldn’t be hard to create an appropriate plug-in to work with your server.

Can you open the protocol used to communicate with the servers you use to handle the push notifications?

I have posted a request on the Openfire forums that they contact about working together.  http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/thread/39057

Is this already included in the updated versions? Thank you.
