IDC: Instant messaging to overtake email in business

The research shows that what they call the Hyper-connected have already adopted instant messaging as their primary channel for communication and will be driving instant messaging in the corporate world to the mass effect.
This trend will place instant messaging at the heart of the enterprise communication channels. You can thus expect the focus of the leading instant messaging platform to become security, compliance, robustness and ability to federate with the external world.
