OneTeam alpha3 has been released to our private alpha-testers.
The desktop XMPP client OneTeam, made by ProcessOne, has been delivered to private alpha-testers, as version labelled “alpha3”. OneTeam comes in different flavors:
- Standalone, for Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows, you can launch it form the Application menu, Dock, or Start menu, like Firefox, OpenOffice.org, VirtualBox, Audacity, etc.
- Firefox extension, as a side bar, with a dedicated chat window
OneTeam has already a lot of different features:
- Chat, groupchat and presence
- Jingle and Jingle Nodes for voice calls
- Threading in order to follow different conversations inside a chat tab
- Command line for power-users, with auto-completion, for the most common actions
- Remote-debugging for the developpers
- Archive search and history browsing
- etc.
We have been working on OneTeam since our latest release (alpha2) in April. Here is a small changelog:
- Port to Firefox 4
- BOSH configuration over HTTPS
- Localization updates
- New command line: /call, /whois
- Some UI improvements and dialogs redesign
- Remember group folding in roster
- OneTeam logo as window icon on Windows
- etc.
We also performed some bug fixes and minor updates including:
- Windows Jingle features
- Openfire authentication
- Removed references to “Jabber” as much as possible in favor of “XMPP”
- etc.
However, we still have known issues:
- Bookmarks
- Focus in input area in chat window
- etc.
Also, you may have noticed that we have published a dedicated website at https://oneteam.im. OneTeam will soon be available for everyone and you will be able to download it there.
